The application of lasers in medicine and cosmetic surgery is a
fast growing and ever changing field. Currently, Berkshire Cosmetic
and reconstructive Surgery Center is equipped with three lasers;
the CO2, the tunable-dye and the Long-pulse Nd:YAG. All three lasers
are owned and operated by the facility and are onsite. Our lasers
are not rented from third parties thus avoiding scheduling problems
and poor maintenance. The treatments are always available and delivered
or supervised by board certified Plastic
Surgeons.

Alex TriVantage Tattoo Removal Laser System
The Alex TriVantage Laser system is actually 3 Q-switched lasers: an alexandrite, Nd-Yag, and a KTP. This array of lasers allows us to safely remove almost all colors in tattoos. It works by rupturing the pigment in your skin into smaller fragments which allows your own white blood cells to safely and naturally clear the pigment. Expect 6-12 treatments separated by 6 weeks to allow for the best clearance. |

Ellipse Intense Pulse Light
Intense Pulse Light (IPL) utilizes broad spectrum wave lengths to treat brown spots, diffuse redness and fine wrinkles. The Ellipse is the latest technology utilizing more energy and requiring less treatments than previous generations of IPL. It is a non-ablative treatment with no signifincant down time. For optimal results 2-4 treatments is receommended.
IPL treats a wide variety of skin conditions:
Sun damage, flushing, skin texture, redness, broken capillaries, brown spots, age spots, sun induced freckles on the hands, chest, and face, it also excels in helping the reduction of fine wrinkles and large pores. |

Gentlelase©
The Gentlelase is used for long term hair reduction on lighter skin types and is the most effective hair removal laser available today. It is combined with it's own dynamic cooling device to make the treatment more comfortable and safer than ever before. With a larger handpiece than other lasers the Gentlelase can treat larger areas more efficiently. Like all hair removal technologies laser hair removal will require multiple treatments. |

The Candela VBeam© Tunable Dye Laser
The Tunable Dye laser provides light energy absorbed by hemoglobin contained in blood. This laser is used to treat conditions caused by abnormal or unsightly blood vessels. We use the VBeam to treat rosacea, hemangiomas (ie. Port wine stains), red scars and dilated veins on the face and body. |

The Cynosure Long Pulsed Nd:YAG Laser
The Nd:YAG laser emits light absorbed by hair and is the newest and safest hair removal laser. Unlike previous hair removal lasers, the Long Pulsed Nd:YAG can be used on tanned skin without causing pigmentary changes. |

The LUXAR© CO2 Laser
The C02 laser delivers light energy absorbed principally by water in living tissue. The LUXAR laser can provide this energy in continuous and superpulsed mode. The continuous mode allows this laser to be used as a unique cutting device that minimizes inflammation and decreases scar formation. The superpulsed mode allows this laser to very accurately ablate tissue without significantly heating.
The main cosmetic use of the CO2 laser is for facial rejuvenation. Sun damaged skin is replaced by fresh new skin devoid of wrinkles and sun spots. The CO2 laser is also used for removing scars, skin lesions and skin irregularities. |
